DEPUTY TO THE FIA ROAD SPORT DIRECTOR

DEPUTY TO THE FIA ROAD SPORT DIRECTOR (Geneva - Switzerland)

Under the supervision of the Road Sport Director, the Deputy to the FIA Road Sport Director will oversee the "Off-Road" group within the Road Sport department. Additionally, the person will also assist the Director with the management and administration of the department and represent the Director in meetings or on occasions when he is unable to be present.

MISSIONS AND RESPONSABILITIES:

1/ Development of Championships/Cups

  • Develop and implement FIA championships/cups in order to establish a clear hierarchy in the disciplines between grassroots, amateur, semi-professional and professional levels.
  • Assist with studies on Championship opportunities in all regions: identify opportunities, conduct market analysis, check project feasibility, draft business models and potentially launch strategies.
  • Participate in launching processes: compile dossiers to convince ASNs to lend their support, prepare calls for expressions of interest and contracts for potential promoters/operators, and propose regulations.

2/ Supervision of sporting regulations

  • Oversee the drafting of sporting regulations in accordance with the decisions taken by the WMSC and follow up any resulting modifications.

3/ Management of Championships/Cups

  • In support of the relevant Championship managers within the Off-Road Group, oversee the different aspects relating to the competitions

4/ Director Support

  • Assist the Director in developing Departmental and Disciplinary strategies.
  • Reduce the workload of the Director by taking responsibility within the Department for specific functions and projects.
  • Represent the Department on occasions when the Director is unavailable.

PROFILE:

  • University/business school/ Engineering school degree
  • Significant experience in motor sport, attaining a position of sporting manager.
  • Political and diplomatic understanding and tact required to work with different stakeholders, including promoters and ASNs.
  • Good knowledge of sport and especially rally
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences in the sport
  • Ability to understand technical subjects
  • Ability to manage and lead a team
  • Understanding of key business functions, including budgetary and legal processes
  • Excellent English skills (additional proficiency in a non-European language is advantageous).
  • Proficient in MS Office 365 applications.
  • Confirmed managerial qualities
  • Rigour in the organization of work
  • Sense of diplomacy/compromise
