High Voltage Test Engineer 80 - 100% (f/m/d)


Hitachi Energy, High Voltage Products, is renowned worldwide as a specialist for power transmission and distribution. The Service unit is responsible for the worldwide after sales support of generator circuit-breaker (GCB) systems and gas insulated switchgears (GIS), including training, installation and commissioning, scheduled maintenance, added value services, troubleshooting, extensions, retrofits and replacements.

We are looking for competent, open minded and motivated High Voltage Test Engineer to join our team. In this versatile position, we offer you plenty of free space for your ideas as well as extensive travels - including longer and very interesting stays abroad. Being the contact person for our customers, you will be close to the product and able to participate directly at the construction site.

Your Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the on-site High Voltage Test of our Hitachi Energy product portfolio for gas-insulated switchgear up to 550kV.

  • Perform partial discharge measurement during the on-site HV Test.

  • Leadership and coordination tasks during the on-site HV Test abroad.

  • First point of contact in case of obstacles including problem solving in close cooperation with customers and project managers.

  • Creating test reports and non-conformance reports.

  • Planning and preparation tasks at the office in Zürich, including the creation of test procedures.

  • First point of contact in case of obstacles including problem solving in close cooperation with customers and project managers.

  • Collaboration with our R&D for improvements.

Your Background

  • Higher Education in Electrical High Voltage Engineering or Energy Technologies.

  • Excellent language skills in English, German is a plus.

  • Independent personality with the ability to operate reliable, even under difficult circumstances.

  • Site service experience is a plus.

  • Willing to work on missions around the globe (up to 70 % of your time)
