Varian is the world’s largest manufacturer of medical devices and software for treating cancer and other medical conditions with radiotherapy, proton therapy and brachytherapy. Our vision is a world without fear of cancer. Here in Switzerland, we are searching for a new family member to our EMEA Software team.

In this diverse and challenging position, you are responsible for managing the complex software installations and the underlying IT infrastructure used in radiotherapy at our customers facilities.

​Specific Responsibilities

  • Installation and configuration of hardware components, software products and software upgrades

  • Support of our customers in relation to the basic application of our products

  • Coordination and project handling in the context of upgrades, installations and commissioning in cooperation with our customers and the software project management team

  • Maintenance and updating of the technical documentation

​Desired Qualifications

  • Graduate of Technical Institute or University in computer science or related fields

  • First professional experience in IT, e.g. in 2nd level IT support, as a system administrator or in IT service

  • Comprehensive technical knowledge and experience in maintaining complex IT solutions (VMWare, Microsoft Windows based Client/Server solutions, Citrix, Microsoft SQL databases, ARCserve/Veeam Backup solutions and TCP/IP based network components, including firewalls and security) 

  • Independent and responsible way of working

  • Fluency in English language both written and spoken

  • Willingness to travel extensively (approx. 50%- 70%) within EMEA.

  • Customer-oriented, communicative, resilient and able to work in a team


​You have a proactive attitude with excellent organizational skills. You are able to work independently as well as part of a team. You thrive in managing numerous tasks accurately and simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. ​
