BASEL OFFICE - Enrichment Manager

We are looking for an Enrichment Manager to join our Basel Head Office. The Viking Enrichment program delivers destination related lectures designed to shed light on the destination’s history, art, world affairs, natural world and more. They are hosted by a wide range of experts, from historians and archaeologists to former diplomats and naturalists, eager to share their knowledge.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

• The role of the Enrichment Manager is to oversee and action the process of planning the lecture program, schedule and book the speakers and monitor the progress and success of the Viking Enrichment Program.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Planning Lecture Programs:

o Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design engaging and informative, destination related lecture programs by itinerary for the Viking Ocean and Expedition fleet.

o Identify relevant topics, themes, and speakers that align with Viking.

o Ensure the content is valuable and enriching for the guests.

• Speaker Communication and Coordination:

o Establish communication channels with potential speakers.

o Negotiate terms, availability, and logistics with speakers.

o Coordinate schedules, travel arrangements, and accommodations for speakers.

• Logistics Management:

o Book cabins and flights for speakers, considering cost-effectiveness and convenience.

o Ensure all necessary arrangements are in place for a smooth experience.

o Quality Assurance:

o Monitor the quality of lectures and presentations.

o Gather feedback to improve future programs.

o Continuously assess the impact of enrichment activities.

• Collaboration and Networking:

o Foster relationships with industry experts, leaders, and influencers.

o Explore partnerships for potential future speakers.

o Uphold and maintain library of speakers.

o Attend relevant conferences and events to stay updated on trends and opportunities.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 5 years’ experience within cruise line enrichment programming or speaker event planning and organization.

• Driven, flexible, proactive person with a positive attitude and team spirit.

• Passion for culture and a key interest in learning.

• Excellent administrative and organizational skills with attention to detail.

• Excellent computer skills with high proficiency in Excel, Word and Powerpoint.

• Fluent English speaker with a second language.

EDUCATION

• Completed higher education degree in relevant field.
