QA Engineer

Mission:

At Verity, our QA team helps our development teams ensure the delivery of high-quality software. We use both manual and automated testing, including shift-left principles, to catch and fix problems early. We believe in teamwork for Quality Assurance, so the entire development teams are involved in testing activities. We're also ramping up our efforts on Test Automation to focus more on automating repetitive and time-consuming tasks to improve our testing processes.

Your Role:

  • Work within the QA team to drive and formalize our approach to delivering high-quality software
  • Work tightly with our development teams to define, implement and operate testing for their systems, both for backend and frontend and to optimize new designs for testability
  • Help provide a solid process and tech platform to base our testing on by defining best practices and implementing testing frameworks
  • Gather data and metrics on our testing efforts to make sure that we are focusing on what brings the most value
  • Continuously work on ways to improve the internal software quality process

Your Responsibilities:

  • Degree (FH, MSc, BSc) in computer science, software engineering, or relevant field
  • 3+ years of professional hands-on experience in product QA environments, where you have designed and implemented automated testing for web-based and/or SaaS applications
  • Excellent understanding of QA processes and methods to ensure and improve software quality
  • Working knowledge of relevant test frameworks and automation tools (e.g. Postman, pytest, Playwright, Swagger, moto, boost, CTest, …)
  • Our process and tech stack is based on the following, so any of these are an added plus:
    • Experience delivering in agile / DevOps environments
    • Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks in CI systems
    • Experience working with the Atlassian tool suite (Confluence, Jira & Xray)
    • Knowledge of Python and/or C++ in cloud-based and embedded systems
    • Knowledge of AWS services and container technologies
