The Position

Head of Brand Strategy and Creative Solutions

Group Communications (GC) is responsible for creating a lasting positive image of Roche and are representing the company's voice on a Group level: We communicate Roche’s strategy and how we deliver on our purpose of “Doing now what patients need next” to Roche colleagues and external audiences. We drive integrated and global campaigns and provide platforms for communications business partners as well as our affiliates to engage with audiences. We contribute to building trust of key stakeholders, to managing Roche’s brand and reputation and to building a favorable environment for our business. The Position

The Head of Brand Strategy and Creative Solutions is a senior level role in the newly-established Brand and Reputation Team. This role is global in scope, and will manage and coach a team of colleagues based in Basel and other global locations. You will have overall responsibility for developing and implementing a global brand strategy, designed to provide a unified engagement experience with Roche no matter where we operate. You are also responsible for organising and coordinating a creative strategy and providing CoE creative expertise to partners in GC and outside of GC.

Your Opportunities

  • You are responsible to increase Brand awareness of Roche with key stakeholders externally in order to further promote, protect and position our organisation.

  • You thrive to increase brand consistency and standardization across Roche - develop and implement a suite of standardized tools, templates, and materials that can be used and re-used across the organisation, saving time and resources.

  • You help to decrease enterprise-wide creative spend by centralising and standardising a creative approach that applies to all of Roche Group.

  • You develop and implement overall brand architecture for all of Roche Group.

  • You provide strategic branding consulting to stakeholders in and outside of GC, including Senior Management.

  • You implement an overall creative strategy that defines how we wish to visually present ourselves, no matter where we operate and bring the vision of Roche to life.

  • You coordinate a Creative Services model that provides strategic and operational support on key initiatives, and that looks to consolidate and centralise creative activities.

  • You provide strategic support as a CoE to Pharma and Diagnostics Business partners to support in reputation promotion and enhancement.

  • You lead a team of brand and creative experts.

Who you are

You have a university degree as well as significant experience in strategic communications in a fast paced environment. You possess excellent interpersonal skills and are comfortable working in a matrixed and multicultural environment. Additionally you bring the following skills and competencies:

  • You bring 10+ years of experience in communication preferably gained in a corporate environment or PR agency supporting healthcare clients plus 5 or more years of leadership experience.

  • You have a proven track record of developing and launching impactful brand and creative programs.

  • You have a deep ability to understand how to harness a corporate brand to help drive engagement with Roche, and to promote, protect and position our organisation

  • You bring a deep and broad understanding of the Roche business model, and the opportunities we have to harness our brand to drive awareness and ultimately business results.

  • You have a deep experience in launching major change initiatives, and aligning large multi-national organisations around a centralised and powerful brand.

  • You bring strong management and project management experience, and can manage and implement multiple projects, and manage multiple stakeholders.

  • You are an experienced communicator with breadth and depth of expertise and a seasoned people leader and leader of leaders; you role model a servant and creative leadership style, motivated by our shared purpose, providing vision, inspiration and catalyzing the organization to deliver communications excellence and value.

  • You bring the ability to coach a team of high performing employees, enabling performance that delivers collective value beyond their individual contributions. You are able to build and lead diverse teams, develop talent and create a culture that is transparent and value-driven to accelerate the personal growth of employees.

  • You demonstrate abilities to develop and manage large-scale global communications strategies, plans, activities and teams.

  • You demonstrate excellent executive impact: Ability to present with integrity and presence as a spokesperson, communicator, mediator and presenter.

  • You have a track record of presenting to and coaching senior company executives/audiences and contributing to influencing their decision-making.

  • You are fluent in English (verbal and written); other languages are an advantage.

Primary location is Basel. Additional locations can be considered at hiring manager's discretion.
