Our Purpose in Quality Control Basel Kaiseraugst (BBK) is to analyze so that patients can trust safe and efficient medication and therapy. As part of the quality organization Kaiseraugst, we live quality. With our business partners, we do the right thing for our patients. Independent, reliable, and efficient.

The QC BBK team is responsible for the analytical testing of biological active ingredients (APIs) and sterile biological drugs (Drug Products). This includes conducting analytical transfers and validations. The activities are carried out at the Kaiseraugst site and serve customers at the Basel and Kaiseraugst sites, as well as at other locations within the global Roche network.

Your opportunity:

As the Unit Lead QC Bioassay, you will have a leadership position with direct personnel responsibility in a self-organized team. As a visionary leader, you coach, develop, and promote your team members, ensuring that employees are assigned according to their qualifications and that corresponding goals are achieved. You act as a "change manager" who can motivate and shape an innovation culture. You will be part of the QC leadership team and as a deputy, you also take on tasks on behalf of the head QC Basel/Kaiseraugst.

  • You drive the development, implementation, and execution of departmental strategies as well as strategic and operational goals.

  • You sponsor new technology and automation projects to optimize business processes.

  • You are responsible for the budget and financial performance within your assigned area.

Additional responsibilities include ensuring the organization's collaboration with the QC network, as well as the implementation of global requirements, including the development of site-specific concepts and solutions in line with the requirements of health authorities.

Who you are:

To be qualified for this role, an academic degree in natural sciences, pharmacy, engineering, or a comparable field is required, along with at least 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and 4 years of professional experience in quality, compliance, or a comparable relevant area in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Excellent analytical skills and enjoyment of root cause analysis, identification of complex relationships, and influencing factors.

  • You enjoy dealing with complex tasks and can familiarize yourself with analytical topics in a short period of time which allows you to make data-based decisions.

  • Responsibility for continuous improvement processes with an end-to-end focus.

  • Experience with inspections and audits.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, as well as fluency in English and German, both written and spoken, are required.
