Position Summary

We are now looking for a Production Assistant (Egron) to be based in Mossel Bay Factory.

In this role you will be responsible to operational Job. It is responsible for a range of routine tasks often of short cycle where there is some scope for controlling the pace of work of manual nature, related to the manufacturing, filling, and packaging equipment or processes.

A day in the life of a Production Assistant (Egron):

  • Starting of the EGRON
  • Wait for instructions from process controller to install spray nozzle.
  • Watch the spray nozzle until the product is sprayed.
  • Check the spraying quality and use the signals to communicate to the process controller.
  • Check the flow of powder through the sight glass in EGRON 3rd floor.
  • Install lecithin gun in EGRON 4th floor.
  • Stopping of the EGRON
  • Wait for instructions from the process controller for stopping of the EGRON.
  • Cut off the lecithin supply in 4th floor.
  • Disconnect the nozzles from the high-pressure line once the process controller gives a signal of stopping. Take extra precaution to avoid burning.
  • Avoid water spillages to the tower or on the platform.
  • Dismantle the spraying nozzles and clean.
  • Connect the spray nozzle flexi hoses to the CIP line if instructed so by the process controller.
  • Dismantle the nozzle and take it to the control panel.
  • Totebin duties
  • Change and clean tote bins at the scales as per procedure.
  • Clean powder sifter in EGRON 1st floor after starting up and as required.
  • Maintain general hygiene of the tote bin area and the 1st floor.
  • Blow back powder as determined by the process controller.
  • Declare tote bins on SAP immediately after removing them from the scale.
  • Ensure proper handling of forklifts and batteries according to procedures.
  • Inline Laboratory duties
  • Carry out inline laboratory tests as per laid down procedure.
  • Record results in the powder analysis book.
  • Inform the process controller for any out of norm results.
  • Capture the quality results on SAP.
  • Housekeeping and hygiene
  • Assist with dry cleaning of the tower and other EGRON equipment.
  • Clean EGRON floors, walls, windows and doors when necessary.
  • Assist with wet cleaning of after drier bed and after cooler bed when necessary.
  • Ensure that cleaning equipment are only used in their prescribed areas.
  • Ensure that vacuum cleaners are used according to laid down procedures.
  • General
  • Participate in Shift handovers.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities (CIA).
  • Relieves the in-line analysts as and when necessary.
  • Notify the process controller should problems be noticed and assist to rectify them.
  • Ensure safe work procedures are always followed.
  • Performs other duties assigned to him/her from time to time by his/her team leader as required.
