The R&D Engineer plays an important role supporting strategic technology direction by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative technology using own ideas. Reporting to the CoE Laboratory Manager, you will support the R&D Agile Teams by performing assigned tasks under supervision, focusing on certification tasks using technical knowledge in a structured way.

Your responsibilities

  • Actively support product certification for existing and new products, dealing with renewals and product design updates.
  • Carry out practical certification testing.
  • Document work and contribute to written technical reports.
  • Use technical know-how in your area of competence to solve problems.
  • Use your creative ideas for R&D projects and propose follow-up activities based on project results.
  • Participate in working teams and offer assistance to co-workers, as well as consulting team members and colleagues to gain information and knowledge.
  • Stay up-to-date with strategic plans and perform activities in line with the current direction.
  • Adhere to applicable processes, standards, and guidelines, and support the achievement of assigned targets (quality, time) as well as addressing risks.

Your background

  • A university degree in electronics engineering (bachelor’s degree).
  • Minimum few years of experience working in a laboratory environment with UPS equipment or equivalent related experience.
  • Knowledge of product regulations and standards (including IEC and UL) is a plus.
  • Experience working with certification bodies is a plus.
  • Solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • Fluent command of Italian and good knowledge of English (German is a plus).
  • Valid driving license in Switzerland.
