For our Motion, Power, Sensing Division site based in Fribourg, we are currently looking for an

As “IT Infrastructure Engineer” you will support and/or improve business processes with information technology solutions. Your role is to develop, design and analyse unique and diverse systems and/or programs of considerable scope and complexity. You will handle providing specialist technical support and expertise across Parker Meggitt’s Infrastructure and Cloud Environment covering hardware, technical systems software, and cloud-based technologies. You will take part in the design authority process for all Parker Corporate IT decisions within programs, ensuring alignment with Architecture.

The main responsibilities for this role are:

Infrastructure

  • Ensure integrity of the company’s databases, transaction processing and reporting systems, security, resources monitoring, reporting and the development of specialised systems processes.
  • Operate and keep traditional IT infrastructures, cloud ecosystems, and IT services to meet business needs. Manages compute physical/virtual and storage environments; oversees systems and services maintenance and security.
  • Provide oversight to project delivery within the hosting and identify management team in Fribourg, ensuring resource demand is met with the correct balance of skillset and consistency, and supply an escalation point for team members whilst ensuring documentation is maintained and process is followed.
  • Proactively support and manage the global portfolio of infrastructure solutions ensuring platforms run effectively, securely, and efficiently, ensuring hyper-vigilant support is provided.
  • Applies and leads continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency of systems and processes.
  • Train and mentor team members. Provide leadership within team and potentially for another Parker Meggitt team/individual team member.

Development and configuration system software

  • Interface with global business and information technology teams to coordinate project development, changes, or implementation.
  • Analyses, develops/configures, plans, or installs software. Tests, documents, and implements complex business solutions. Apply standard security requirements to protect systems. Prepares process documentation to specify, in detail, operations to be performed by systems. Upgrades and maintains systems after implementation.

Information technology project plans and schedules

  • May serve as project leader to establish goals, objectives, and timelines.
  • Manages work methods used for project.
  • Manages assignment completeness, timeliness, and accuracy.
  • Estimates, develops, and manages project budgets and cost/performance analyses.

Your Profile

  • IT Federal Diploma or Bachelor in Information Technology Sciences
  • Proven experience of 5-8 years in a similar position
  • Knowledge on Dell APEX and Cybersecurity experience (SOX, CMCC, Air Cyber) would be an asset
  • Fluent in both French and English
  • Able to take initiatives with a “out-of-the-box” thinking mindset
  • Autonomous and rigorous
  • Solutions oriented with a customer focus
  • Curious and willing to collaborate with various stakeholders across the organization with a well-developed team-spirit
