Job Description
Reporting to the Head Chef, the essential responsibilities and functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Providing customers with professional, engaging, and attentive service while assisting colleagues
- Organizing and supervising the quality and quantity of dishes offered as well as coordinating production related to all banquets
- Reviewing all banquet orders and ensuring that all dishes are prepared and setups are completed
- Organizing preparatory meetings for each work period for colleagues
- Participating in the development of new proposals and presentations for banquets
- Monitoring the staff budget and productivity in accordance with established guidelines
- Ensuring the training of new colleagues
- Ensuring cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
- Complying with policies, procedures, and service standards related to kitchens
- Adhering to all hygiene and safety policies when handling food and beverages
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen management position
- Successful experience in starred restaurants
- Having already led a team of 20 employees
- A diploma or certificate in a culinary discipline is required
- Proficiency in English is desired
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications is an asset
- Excellent interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills
- Particularly responsible and reliable
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work in a team
- Ability to focus attention on customer needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
