The Official Foundation for Youth (FOJ) aims to promote the psycho-social development of children, adolescents, and young people in difficulty, in collaboration with parents and partner institutions. Bound by a service contract with the State of Geneva, the FOJ is committed to the protection and defense of children's interests.

To fulfill its mission, the institution manages 47 structures spread across the Canton of Geneva, has more than 500 places for minors and young adults, and also offers educational services at home. The FOJ is composed of 670 employees.

To successfully carry out its mission, the FOJ regularly seeks civilians for its various structures to provide help and support to the educational team. A position for a civilian assistant educator is open at the Chalet Savigny, a medium- to long-term home that accommodates children aged 2 to 12 years.

Job Description

The positions for civilians concern only those who have decided to perform their civil service in place of Swiss military service.

• 35% Daily Support

Support in the institution in all daily life activities: getting up, meals, hygiene, going to bed.

• 15% Case Follow-up

Participation in seminars on educational attitudes, meetings with families and/or social workers.

• 25% Support in Education

Assistance and supervision in the young person's academic progress (for example, homework follow-up).

• 25% Support in Leisure Activities

Organization and follow-up of extracurricular and leisure activities, preparation of the project, organization and management of the annual camp, submission of accounts at the end of the camp.

Qualifications

• Interest in the social/educational environment with children and pre-adolescents.
• Ease of contact, sense of responsibility, flexibility, dynamic spirit, adaptability.

Additional Information

Civil service is an alternative for individuals subject to military service who cannot reconcile this service with their conscience. They perform, upon request, a replacement civil service.

• Duration of the mission: minimum 3 months
