The Zug Cantonal Hospital is dedicated to the health of the population of the canton of Zug and the surrounding regions. Around 1,200 employees, including 180 in training and further education, work in various areas. Every year, we treat and care for over 11,500 inpatient and over 70,000 outpatient patients. More than 27,500 people are treated annually in the interdisciplinary emergency center.For our department Medical Controlling and Medical Coding, we are looking for a Medical Coder from June 1, 2026, or by arrangement.
Your Tasks
- Independent coding of inpatient treatment cases from all specialties (surgery, orthopedics/traumatology, medicine, gynecology/obstetrics, intensive care medicine) according to SwissDRG
- Close collaboration with physicians, nursing staff, and other professionals
- Participation in quality assurance processes, internal training, and optimization of medical documentation
- Handling inquiries from insurers and internal departments
- Possibility to code inpatient cases according to ST Reha for our cooperation partner
Your Profile
- Completed training in healthcare (e.g., nursing, ideally with specialization in intensive or anesthesia care, physician)
- Several years of professional experience in medical coding in a somatic acute hospital
- Federal specialist certificate in medical coding or willingness to obtain it
- Independent, precise, structured, and efficient working style
- High quality and sense of responsibility
- Teamwork skills and good communication competence
