Heating / Ventilation / Air Conditioning (HVAC) Workshop Manager at CIT-S
To complete its team, the Directorate of Construction, Engineering, Technical and Safety (CIT-S) of the CHUV is looking for a Heating / Ventilation / Air Conditioning Workshop Manager, with a workload between 80% and 100%, for a start date from April 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.
👉 Take the reins of a team of specialists and contribute to strategic technical projects at the heart of a cutting-edge hospital environment.
Context
The Directorate of Construction, Engineering, Technical and Safety (CIT-S) of the CHUV has as its main missions the operation, maintenance, construction, engineering, technical assistance, and consulting within a large hospital real estate portfolio.
Its activities revolve around three major axes: the construction and modernization of infrastructures, the operation and maintenance of technical and biomedical equipment ensuring the continuity of medical, research, and administrative activities, as well as the protection and safety of property and people.
Within this framework, you contribute to the smooth operation of a complex technical park, including nearly 700 monoblocs, and intervene on critical installations such as pharmaceutical manufacturing areas or operating rooms.
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. In collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in healthcare, medical research, and education.
Mission
- You manage, coordinate, and organize the heating / ventilation / air conditioning workshop, composed of about fifteen collaborators, with the support of an assistant workshop manager
- You lead medium complexity technical projects within your field of expertise
- You are the reference expert in the field of HVAC and refrigeration installations
- You work closely with engineers responsible for energy performance actions (APE) as well as with other workshop managers in technical operations
- You ensure active technological monitoring in your area of expertise
- You work in an environment subject to a Quality Management System.
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma (CFC) as a heating or ventilation installer or an equivalent qualification
- Ideally, you have a master craftsman certificate or higher technical training
- You have solid professional experience (minimum 6 years) in the operation and maintenance of technical installations
- You have proven experience in personnel management and demonstrate awareness of energy issues
- You possess good knowledge of hospital technical installations and air conditioning systems
- You master the standards, laws, and regulations related to technical professions
- You are comfortable using office and professional IT tools.
