Head of kjz Meilen, 80 - 100%Well prepared for life – that is our motto. The Office for Youth and Career Counseling (AJB) is responsible for child and youth welfare as well as career counseling. Children, adolescents, and families are at the center of our work. We dedicate ourselves to them daily with great passion and commitment.
The kjz (Child and Youth Welfare Center) is a polyvalent counseling center for families, parents, adolescents, children, and toddlers and operates based on the Child and Youth Welfare Act of the Canton of Zurich.
Due to the retirement of the current position holder, we are looking for a head for kjz Meilen as of June 1, 2026, or by agreement, at 80 - 100%. You will lead kjz Meilen (with 32 employees) in professional, organizational, and personnel matters and report directly to the managing director. You will implement the kjz strategy set by the AJB within the framework of overarching guidelines for service delivery, controlling, and quality assurance. You will fulfill your mandate according to the professional guidelines of the Child and Youth Welfare Department, taking into account the AJB management processes. You will collaborate with authorities, committees, schools, and specialist offices. Your active participation in cantonal and regional conferences, working groups, and project groups completes your diverse range of tasks.
You bring:
- a professional or university degree in social work, psychology, or a comparable field
- proven leadership experience and management skills at the operational planning level
- passion for child and youth welfare and solid knowledge in child protection
- excellent communication skills and good negotiation abilities
- a decisive, resilient, and assertive personality
- high commitment and the ability to maintain an overview in challenging situations
- strategic thinking skills and understanding of processes in complex organizations and political systems
