Job description
The Global Studies Institute (GSI) is an interfaculty center of the University of Geneva combining the tradition of regional and international studies and the developments of global governance. It favors interdisciplinarity in the study of international and regional relations in order to better understand the new challenges of the contemporary world in their entirety.It is offering a position of assistant within the framework of the Bachelor in international relations (BARI)
Field: political science / international relations / global studies
Job description:
- Assist the professor responsible for a BARI course
- Supervision seminar for research projects in political science (BARI)
- Monitoring and grading exams as well as student follow-up
- Participation in the scientific activities of the GSI (conferences, workshops, etc.), in particular the activities of doctoral students (seminars, workshops, study days)
- Devote 50% of the time to thesis writing
- Participation in national and international conferences
- Publication of academic articles
Required title and skills
- Hold a Master’s degree recognized by the University of Geneva (in political science with specialization in international political economy, European political economy, international relations or equivalent degree)
- Have a very good knowledge and a clear research interest in international relations
- Competence and interest in the targeted field as well as the willingness to write a doctoral thesis in global studies (political science and another discipline) or in political science
- Fluency in English and French (oral and written skills)

The candidate will be hired on a two-year contract which may be renewed for two successive periods, respectively two years and one year. The maximum duration of the assistant position is five years.
