Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and is responsible for penal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of offenders, the prevention of recidivism, as well as the detention and preparation of the departure of persons without a valid residence permit are of particular importance.
The Center for Foreign Administrative Detention (ZAA) is part of the enforcement institutions of the Canton of Zurich (VEZ) – one of seven main departments of JuWe – and is an institution specialized in the enforcement of measures according to the Foreigners and Integration Act. The ZAA offers space for around 130 admitted persons.
To strengthen the Care & Security Service (BSD) of the ZAA, we are looking for a flexible personality to start immediately or by arrangement.
This is your field of activity
- You care for, occupy, and accompany admitted persons within the daily structures and act as a contact person for concerns
- You ensure an orderly daily routine, ensure compliance with and enforcement of safety and service regulations, and are able to recognize and manage critical situations
- You take on administrative tasks such as writing reports and documenting events
This is what you bring
- You can demonstrate a completed vocational training EFZ and are willing to attend further training such as the SKJV basic training to become a specialist in correctional services
- You are a team-oriented, empathetic, and precise personality with an independent and solution-oriented working style
- You express yourself well in German both in writing and speaking, have knowledge of a second language (English/French/Italian), and are proficient with the MS Office suite
- You find it easy to resolve difficult situations in a de-escalating and consistent manner
- You are mentally and physically resilient and can reconcile changing working hours with other commitments (shift work; Sundays and public holidays)
- You are at least 25 years old and have a clean record (no entries in the criminal record or debt enforcement register)
