ICT Operations and Projects Manager
Vocational Training Office | 60-80% | Chur
The Vocational Training Office (UCFP) is a service of the Department of Education, Culture and Environmental Protection (DECA) and implements the education policy mandates of the Confederation and the canton in the field of basic vocational training. It is also a competence center for issues related to career choice, school, and studies as well as an authority that supports throughout the entire professional career.
For June 1, 2026, or by agreement, we are looking for an ICT operations and projects manager who will be responsible for the strategic, conceptual, and operational management of ICT within the framework of the digital transformation of the service.

Tasks
- Development of the ICT strategy of the Office with a focus on the development of electronic data exchange with surrounding systems
- Operational management and coordination of the ICT sector including preparation and control of the budget, acquisitions as well as performance and contract management
- Responsible for IT and IT security of the Office
- Development of guidelines, instructions, strategies, etc. within the area of competence
- Control, management, and implementation of ICT projects including participation in preliminary studies, preparation of project plans, monitoring of expenses, deadlines, and achievement of objectives as well as involvement of stakeholders
- Responsibility for the applications of the Office's basic services
- Responsibility for testing and integration of specific applications
- Responsibility for organizing first-level support including coordination with second and third-level support
- Management and deputizing of the ICT supporter and ensuring the necessary IT know-how within the Office
What we expect from you
- Advanced vocational training, university of applied sciences or equivalent training in the ICT sector with several years of professional experience
- Experience in managing ICT and digitization projects; further professional qualifications such as CAS/MAS in project management, IPMA or HERMES are an advantage;
- Insight and understanding of processes and interrelations, organizational talent, and structured working method
- Problem-solving skills as well as analytical and interdisciplinary thinking;
- Flexibility, teamwork skills as well as a high level of autonomy, personal initiative, and attention to quality;
- Basic interest in vocational training
- Leadership experience
- Good knowledge of spoken and written German
- Knowledge of a second (and possibly a third) cantonal language is welcome.
