In the canton of Zurich, the Office for School Evaluation is responsible for checking the quality of elementary schools. The office conducts external evaluations of regular and special schools. To complete our team, we are looking for a specialist for the evaluation of regular and special schools (60%; with an option for 75% after two years) starting August 1, 2026, or by arrangement.
Your tasks include planning, conducting, and analyzing external school evaluations as well as providing feedback and reporting to schools and school authorities. Established working tools are available to you in rotating teams of two to four people.
For this demanding task, we expect a teaching diploma, a university degree, or a comparable basic education. Additional training and in-depth experience in the areas of school/organizational development or quality management are required. Professional qualifications in the special education sector or in remedial education, in kindergarten, or in school management are advantageous. You bring profound knowledge of elementary schools and the education system and ideally have knowledge and experience in evaluation procedures and methods. Excellent oral and written language skills, outstanding organizational and teamwork abilities, as well as good IT skills are also required. Your resilience and willingness to work flexible hours are particularly important: working hours fluctuate within the framework of the annual working time – corresponding to the school year rhythm.
We offer you a challenging and meaningful task in the interesting field of education, the opportunity to independently apply your diverse skills, and to work in a motivated and highly qualified team. You will be carefully prepared for your task through a several-month introductory program and by attending the CAS School Quality at PHZH. Would you like to know more? Andreas Brunner, Head of the Office for School Evaluation, will be happy to inform you (phone 043 259 79 00). We look forward to receiving your application by November 28, 2025.
