About the job
Group Controller 80 - 100%The Finance Administration manages the finances of the Canton of Zurich and enables an overall view. It prepares the budget with the financial plan and the accounts of the canton on behalf of the government council. It prepares financial decisions of the government council, ensures an efficient accounting system, and provides corresponding services for the entire administration.
The Financial Management Department develops the budget and financial planning of the canton and prepares the financial reporting. As of April 1, 2026, or by agreement, we are looking for a scientific employee in the Planning and Reporting division.
Your tasks:
- Preparation of proposals to the government council regarding the financial planning of the canton
- Collaboration in the preparation of the canton's financial plan (Consolidated Development and Financial Plan), including support of SAP applications and tools as well as financial data management
- Preparation of various chapters of the annual report (e.g., "Finances at a Glance")
- Answering specific questions about the state budget based on evaluations, especially from SAP or Business Warehouse (BW)
- Preparation of information for the Finance Director
- Further development, especially automation of financial planning processes
- Active and independent participation in projects
Your profile:
- University or university of applied sciences degree or a master's degree in business administration (business economics, economics, or political science)
- Proven professional experience and knowledge of public finances
- Experience in SAP or Business Warehouse
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills, precise working style, and a flair for numbers
- Strong editorial skills and the ability to present complex issues in an easily understandable language
