You will join the Domain Security team, a group of around 10 specialists responsible for safeguarding Switzerland’s domain namespace and supporting registrars, authorities, and the wider community. The team values independence, open-minded and goal-oriented collaboration, and a strong willingness to learn and continuously improve. We work closely with technical, legal, and security experts across Switch and actively collaborate with registrars, other registries, and authorities in Switzerland and Europe. We are looking for a Registry Specialist who enjoys working at the intersection of technical operations, stakeholder management and domain security.
Registry Specialist (80% - all identities and backgrounds)
Your main tasks are
- Registry Operations & Support
- Maintain and develop relationships with registrars as key customers and act as a primary point of contact for registry-related topics
- Provide registry support via email and phone for technical and administrative inquiries from registrars, domain holders and the public
- Handle operational questions and complex or time-critical situations in close collaboration with technical and legal teams
- Support domain lifecycle and registry-related processes, including coordination with internal stakeholders
- Contribute to customer-focused documentation, communication and registrar enablement
- Domain Abuse & Security
- Handle cases related to domain abuse (e.g., malware, phishing, and other misuse) in line with internal processes, policies and legal requirements
- Monitor the domain ecosystem and contribute to early detection of risks and security-relevant developments
- Collaborate with authorities and relevant organizations on security-related topics in the domain context
- Contribute to the further development of domain abuse processes, tools and strategy
- Support investigations and coordinate measures with internal security, legal and technical teams
- Community Outreach & Industry Collaboration
- Exchange knowledge with registrars, other registries and industry partners to strengthen collaboration and share best practices
- Represent Switch at industry meetings, conferences and community initiatives in Switzerland and Europe
- Participate in peer visits with other registries and support relationship-building with key stakeholders
- Maintain active engagement with the registry and domain security community, including occasional travel (approx. 10–20%)
What you bring
Nice to have
- Experience in the domain, hosting, registry or internet infrastructure environment
- Good technical understanding of DNS, domain operations or related internet technologies
- Strong communication skills and confidence in stakeholder interactions, including challenging situations
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical, legal and security teams
- Structured and solution-oriented working style with strong analytical thinking
- Professional proficiency in German and English (both required)
- Openness and willingness for occasional travel within Switzerland and Europe

- Cybersecurity knowledge, particularly in domain abuse (e.g., phishing, malware)
- Understanding of the Swiss legal or regulatory framework in the domain context
- Familiarity with web technologies, hosting or registry operations
