Commercial clerk in the Services and Support Team 100%Welcome to the fascinating world of taxes! The cantonal tax office, together with the municipal tax offices, collects taxes for the federal government, the canton, and the municipalities. We support private individuals and companies throughout the entire tax collection process. Around 800 qualified employees are committed to this at the location in Zurich Altstetten.
For our dynamic and versatile team in the withholding tax department, we are looking for reinforcement as of 01.04.2026.
Our "Services and Support" team has a very broad area of responsibility. We are responsible for receiving and processing telephone and written customer inquiries regarding withholding tax assessment and manage the mail inbox for the entire withholding tax department. Through our work, we ensure the correct process flow and carry out essential preliminary and follow-up work for the withholding tax assessment. In addition, we support employers in carrying out the billing procedure and offer them assistance in using the necessary online application "eQuest." We also perform inter-cantonal transfers, certify cross-border commuter withholding taxes, and issue withholding tax certificates.
Your tasks:
As a clerk in our team, you are mainly responsible for the complex specialist area "cross-border commuters" and additionally take on other tasks, know its processes comprehensively, and complete the assignments independently and responsibly. Furthermore, you are responsible for receiving and processing telephone and written inquiries regarding withholding tax assessment. With your service-oriented way of working, you ensure that all inquiries are handled promptly and satisfactorily.
Your profile:
You have a commercial basic education and bring knowledge and professional experience in tax law. You are IT-savvy, and networked thinking is one of your strengths. Furthermore, you have a confident command of German in spoken and written form as well as good English skills. Additional foreign languages (French/Italian) are an advantage. You like to complete your tasks accurately, efficiently, and independently. Decisiveness and resilience complete your profile.
