We are looking for, by arrangement, a
Certified Physiotherapist (Permanent Position or Mandate) 30%.
As the largest certified small hospital for specialized palliative care in the canton of Bern and a cooperation partner of Inselspital, Spitalzentrum Biel, Hirslanden Bern, and UPD, the Diaconis Palliative Care team cares for terminally ill people requiring hospital treatment.
An interprofessional care and treatment team consisting of doctors, nursing staff, and specialists in the disciplines of psychology, pastoral care, physiotherapy, music therapy, and social counseling ensures individual, comprehensive support and treatment with the goal of the best possible quality of life for patients and their relatives.
Your tasks with us
- Physiotherapeutic treatment of seriously ill patients in the inpatient palliative care setting
- Application of pain-relieving measures, respiratory therapy, relaxation techniques, and gentle mobilization
- Promotion of body awareness and support in coping with pain and symptoms such as shortness of breath, edema, or restlessness
- Advice and guidance for relatives regarding positioning and supportive touch
- Collection of findings, definition of individual (daily) goals, and seamless progress documentation
- Close collaboration within the team of nursing, medicine, pastoral care, and social counseling to ensure comprehensive care
What you bring with you
- Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy (BSc) or an equivalent SRK-recognized qualification
- Experience or strong interest in palliative care, oncology, or pain therapy
- Further training in lymphatic drainage, respiratory therapy, or basal stimulation is a great plus
- High emotional resilience and the ability to engage with the needs of seriously ill people and their relatives
- Independent, structured, and highly responsible working style
- High social and communication skills as well as enjoyment of interprofessional collaboration
