Job Description
Manager Quality LAB (80-100%) As Manager of the Quality Laboratory in Thalwil, you will lead a team of highly skilled experts in reliability testing and physical failure analysis. You will be responsible for managing lab operations, driving technical excellence, and fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Your role includes defining and optimizing lab processes, ensuring equipment readiness, and supporting product quality and reliability across the organization. Your Responsibilities
Leadership & People Management
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of experienced Quality Lab professionals. Foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. Provide clear direction, regular feedback, and career development opportunities. Promote cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team and across departments.
Lab Operations & Process Management
Oversee daily operations of the Quality Laboratory in Thalwil. Define and implement efficient processes and procedures for all lab activities. Drive continuous improvement and innovation within the lab environment.
Reliability Testing
Plan, schedule, and execute reliability tests (stress and electrical) for all products. Ensure timely and accurate documentation and reporting of test results to the Quality Engineering team. Optimize reliability testing to reduce costs and improve efficiency. Coordinate the procurement of test boards (BiBs, PK, etc.) based on project needs.
Physical Failure Analysis (PFA)
Manage and perform PFAs within expected timelines. Conduct Failure Mode Analyses (FMAs) to determine appropriate PFA approaches. Ensure high-quality and comprehensive PFA reporting.
Project Coordination & Support
Align regularly with Quality Engineers on qualification project status. Support implementation of product qualification requirements. Collaborate with Quality and Production Engineers to define corrective actions for nonconformities.
Lab Infrastructure & Equipment
Ensure lab equipment is fit for purpose and properly maintained. Investigate and propose new tools, methods, and equipment. Oversee procurement, installation, and maintenance of lab infrastructure. Administer databases related to reliability tests, PFAs, equipment, and master data.
Your Skills and Experience
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Minimum 5 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. Strong expertise in Quality Reliability Engineering. Proven leadership experience managing expert-level technical teams. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Strong communication and project management skills. Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work independently. Fluent in English (written and spoken). Willingness to travel up to 20%.
