The Geneva Foundation for Sociocultural Animation (FASe) is a partner institution of the Canton and the Geneva municipalities. Its mission is to strengthen social cohesion in the cantonal territory by promoting the quality of relationships between individuals and society. Through socio-educational, sociocultural, and associative actions carried out in centers and outreach teams, the Foundation meets the population's needs for meetings, exchanges, solidarity, citizenship, and quality of life, with a view to preventing social exclusion.
Within this framework, FASe is offering a position for a sociocultural animator with a team leader mandate for the Outreach Social Work (TSHM) BUPP Onex team, at a 90% activity rate.
Job Description
You will be responsible for the TSHM BUPP Onex team and actively contribute to the development and coherence of outreach social work actions in the municipal territory.
Your main responsibilities are as follows:
- Manage and supervise a team composed of 3 sociocultural animators, about 10 monitors, a social secretary, and, if applicable, ASE apprentices and HETS students or maturity interns (recruitments, periodic evaluations, support, team dynamics, etc.).
- Develop internal communication based on trust and ensure close collaboration with partners, especially municipal ones, guaranteeing good information flow.
- Organize the team's work and ensure the implementation of the annual action plan, developed in collaboration with the Onex municipality and the FASe general secretariat.
- Support the team's collective reflection, initiate and guarantee the coherence of practices and interventions.
- Handle management tasks, including budgetary and organizational, in connection with objectives defined with the FASe SG and the municipality.
- Actively participate in the design, management, and implementation of sociocultural and community animation projects in the Onex neighborhoods.
- Conduct prevention, proximity, and mediation work with young people disconnected from social ties or seeking integration, through various means: street work, individualized support, sports activities, accompanied management or open access premises, municipal events, etc.
- Based on observed social issues, participate in the development of work in Onex, in collaboration with other social workers in the region, existing social structures, and municipal authorities.
- Pay particular attention to street work, involving regular outreach efforts at the end of the day and weekend evenings.
Qualifications
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in social work, HES level, or an equivalent university degree.
- Desired experience in social action, particularly outreach, knowledge of population characteristics, strong interest and demonstrated abilities for working with adolescents/young adults.
- Skills to fulfill the team leader role, successful experience in team management.
- Good knowledge and practice in project methodology and situation diagnosis.
- Ability to write reports, use common computer software, rigor, and respect for deadlines.
- Skills for network work: collaboration with social actors of the municipality and canton, and proximity institutions.
- Good knowledge of the Geneva social network.
- Ability to work autonomously while ensuring teamwork in collaboration with other social workers in the region, coherently and respectfully with the Institution’s requests and in connection with it.
- Initiative, creativity, listening skills, sense of responsibility.
- Good experience in organization and planning, managing priorities and emergencies.
Additional Information
- Start date: June 1, 2026, or September 1, 2026.
- Additional training in team management: an asset.
- Flexible and irregular hours (evening and weekend activities).
- Salary: according to the Geneva State salary scale, maximum class 16.
