The Cantonal Social Office with over 280 employees takes on diverse, controlling, and operational tasks primarily in social assistance, social insurance, social services, and the asylum sector at the interface between the federal government, other cantons, cities, municipalities, and various private organizations. It also operates its own facility, tilia, headquartered in Rheinau with decentralized residential offerings, which has over 124 residential and employment places, divided into 12 residential groups and 5 studio areas.
For our residential groups in Freienstein and Winterthur, we are looking for a Social Pedagogue HF/FH in Training, 60%, starting August 1, 2026 (limited until the end of training).
Your main tasks
- You support and accompany the residents in daily life organization
- You take on partial responsibilities in case management/case responsibility
- You actively shape the living environment based on the ideas of recovery, participation, and social competence and create learning and development fields
- You ensure individually tailored care of the residents within their abilities, possibilities, and needs
- You are responsible for daily and leisure activities and participate in internal employment offers (household management and maintenance of the property)
- You support in crisis situations and independently initiate measures
- You perform various administrative tasks
Your skills and talents
- You are a student at a higher technical school for social pedagogy or a university of applied sciences for social work/in part-time or work-study program
- You have an interest in working with adults with mental impairments in difficult life situations, partly also with addiction disorders
- You are an independent, responsible, team-oriented, resilient, and flexible personality who already has prior experience in the social field
- You are willing to work proportionally late and weekend shifts as well as on-call telephone and night duty shifts
