La Terrasse du Petit Palais is the summer restaurant of the Fairmont Le Montreux Palace with its Mediterranean cuisine and breathtaking views of Lake Geneva.
Funky Claude's Bar is the undisputed place to land late into the night to enjoy an incredible lineup of traditional and exclusive cocktails to the rhythm of the best live scene in town.
Summary of responsibilities:
Reporting to the Supervisor or Assistant Manager of their department, the essential responsibilities and functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Consistently provide professional, friendly, and engaging service
- Be responsible for the proper execution of setups and preparation of their area
- Carefully perform the service tasks assigned
- Actively participate in all restaurant setups
- Serve customers according to their expectations and anticipate their needs and preferences
- Regularly replenish consoles with clean cutlery, clean glasses, and various condiments that are part of the setup
- Organize the order slips in the kitchen, follow up on allergens with the managers, change cutlery, and clear tables
- Know the menu and wine pairings, associated grape varieties
- Actively participate in cleaning tasks in their department
- Be flexible and cooperative in all circumstances, especially if required to work in another department occasionally
- Learn the technical and emotional standards of LQA and apply them
- Strive to perfect technical and theoretical knowledge to ensure perfect service for demanding clientele
- Participate in a performance review with their superior once during the internship
- Maintain excellent contact with colleagues
- Commit to the quality of their service, discretion, and perfect honesty
- Maintain a professional attitude, be smiling, and remain calm at all times
- Respect ergonomic work standards, health & safety rules, hygiene, and sanitary regulations
- Be cooperative in limiting losses, whether related to sustainable development and/or good stock management of the department
- Respect the policies, procedures, and service standards of the department and company
- Any other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Internship as part of or in preparation for hotel training
- Fluency in French
- Excellent knowledge of English
- Knowledge of a third language is an asset
- Previous service experience
- Knowledge of Silverware software is an asset
- Ability to work in a team
- Flexibility and initiative
- Ability to handle multiple requests simultaneously and manage last-minute changes
Physical requirements of the position (include but are not limited to):
- Constant: standing and walking throughout the work period
- Frequent: lifting and carrying loads
- Occasional: kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
- Occasional: climbing up or down stairs and ramps

To work in Switzerland, the candidate must have a Swiss work permit or be from an EU-17 or EU-8 European country.
