Certified nurses for the Palliative Care Service
To complete our team, we are looking for certified nurses at an activity rate of 80% to 90% for the Palliative Care Service. Start date: November 1, 2025.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
Following an expansion, the service will have 14 beds in single rooms and is located at Beaumont Hospital.
The mission is to improve the quality of life of patients and their relatives.
Palliative care encompasses a set of somatic, psychological, social, and spiritual approaches aimed at helping seriously ill adults of all ages to live as well as possible, as long as possible, in comfort. Families and relatives are integrated into our care. Our team consists of doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, psychologists, spiritual assistants, physiotherapists, dietitians, liaison nurses, and social workers.
Mission
- You are responsible, within your own role, for identifying, planning, executing, and evaluating nursing care in the preventive, curative, palliative, and educational fields for the patients under your care, respecting professional standards and the rules in force within the institution
 - You are responsible for performing delegated medical acts and, in this context, you may delegate acts dependent on your own role and ensure responsibility for them
 - You actively participate in welcoming and supporting patients and their relatives, as well as in organizing work and ensuring the smooth running and continuity of the Unit's activities (for example during evening or night shifts)
 - You participate in supervising and evaluating students and interns and integrating new collaborators
 - You contribute to an interdisciplinary approach to care and teamwork.
 
Profile
- Holder of a HES nursing diploma (or equivalent title as well as Red Cross Recognition, mandatory)
 - You have proven experience in acute care
 - You have experience in this sector (mandatory)
 - You hold a CAS in palliative care, an asset
 - You have excellent interpersonal skills, a sense of contact, and team spirit
 - You collaborate easily within a multidisciplinary team
 - You have analytical and synthesis skills, a sense of responsibility, good adaptability, and are well organized.
 - You possess qualities such as empathy, kindness, and a great sense of listening
 - You manage stress well
 - Proficient in common computer tools
 - Fluent in spoken/written French (level C1).
