The Site and Civil Engineering (SCE) Department manages and develops infrastructures in alignment with CERN’s scientific strategy, as well as all services related to the maintenance and operation of the CERN site. We are currently seeking an Assistant for Responsible Campus Services to support activities in cleanliness, waste management and recovery. Your work will have a direct and visible impact across the Organization’s sites in both France and Switzerland— including its landmark scientific facilities.
Functions
As Assistant for Responsible Campus Services, you will be committed to service quality, sustainability, and continuous improvement. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting cleanliness and waste services:
- Assist with the oversight of third-party service contracts in the areas of cleaning, waste collection, and material recovery.
- Support compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and technical specifications.
- Contribute to the monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Participate in service audits and quality checks across various CERN sites and buildings.
- Prepare internal reports, briefings, and communication materials to ensure information flow between stakeholders.
- Assist in verifying invoices and monitoring budgets in coordination with the service manager.
- Driving innovation and sustainability:
- Support the introduction of sustainable practices and eco-friendly products in cleanliness and waste management operations.
- Participate in pilot projects aimed at improving user satisfaction, service quality, and environmental impact.
- Contribute to the update of procedures and technical documentation, particularly during procurement and contract review phases.
- Supporting campus services:
- Collaborate on cross-functional campus services initiatives as required.
Qualifications
Technical certificate or general secondary education or equivalent relevant experience in the field of administration or a related field.
Experience:
- Experience in supporting or coordinating service contracts, ideally related to cleanliness, hygiene, or waste management.
- Experience in customer service or operations support within a large organisation or campus setting would be an asset.
- Familiarity with sustainability principles and continuous improvement methods would be an advantage.
Technical competencies:

Employment Conditions
Contract type: Limited duration contract (3 years). Subject to certain conditions, holders of limited-duration contracts may apply for an indefinite position.
