What you'll be doing here
- Develop and optimize modular microfluidic chips for diagnostic sensing
- Design and test enrichment and immobilization microfluidic techniques (via simulation and experiments)
- Integrate optical measurement capabilities for nano-sized analytes
- Work on assay integration within a lab-on-chip platform for protein and extracellular vesicle detection
- Contribute to point-of-care diagnostic solutions by automating processing of complex biological liquids
- Collaborate with clinicians, engineers, and academic/industrial partners
- Conduct post-analysis with comparative diagnostic equipment and high-resolution techniques (e.g., AFM)
What you'll bring with you
- Master's degree in biomedical engineering or a related discipline
- Hands-on experience in cleanroom microengineering and microfluidic fabrication
- Experience with immunolabeling biological analytes
- Knowledge in CAD design and FEM simulation tools (e.g., COMSOL, ANSYS) while experience of translating simulation into experimental results is advantageous
- Knowledge of microscopy, optical systems, and image processing programming
- Strong communication skills, proactive and collaborative mindset
- Fluency in English (German or French is a plus)
