To centrally manage our data protection and information security, we are looking for a colleague who will be responsible for the corresponding activities. This position is newly created and is assigned as a staff position directly to the publishing management.
Your area of responsibility
In this role, you bear the professional responsibility for information security and data protection within the company. You develop and maintain a clear governance model with defined roles, responsibilities, and decision-making paths and develop policies, standards, and internal guidelines. You ensure comprehensible documentation and establish transparent risk and measure management.
As a central contact person, you advise the specialist departments on projects, system implementations, and contract reviews and contribute to the creation of the required ISDS documentation – from protection needs analyses to data protection impact assessments to ISDS concepts. You translate regulatory requirements into practical solutions.
You manage and coordinate external specialists such as law firms, security consultants, or auditors, evaluate their recommendations, and derive organizational measures. In addition, you are the central contact person for cantonal authorities, prepare reports and statements, and ensure compliance with cantonal framework conditions.
You identify and prioritize relevant risks, report regularly to the publishing management, and escalate significant deviations. Furthermore, you promote a sustainable security and data protection culture within the company.

You are characterized by a good understanding of digital products, IT architecture, as well as standard software, ERP systems, web technologies, and more. Knowledge of the IDG Zurich – or the willingness to quickly acquire it – is expected. You are communicative, maintain precise German, work carefully and analytically, and have a good understanding of the needs of technology, business, and users. You enjoy working with internal departments and external partners, including administration and authorities (e.g., DSB of the cantonal administration).
