Political Staff Member Basics and Politics Fixed-Term (m/f/d)
The Basics and Politics department is committed to analyses and political statements in the fields of social, migration, and development policy, with a special focus on the impact on the most vulnerable in society. It addresses socio-political issues connected to the operational work and political engagement of Caritas Switzerland.
Your tasks
- Representing the interests of Caritas Switzerland towards political actors (parliaments, governments, administration, NGOs, media, etc.)
- Monitoring, identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing the most important political topics and developing strategies to influence at the national and cantonal levels
- Maintaining the network of political actors at the national and cantonal levels as well as partner organizations, representing Caritas Switzerland at external events
- Analyzing political and social developments in the field of social policy and preparing scientific findings
- Developing positions for media and public relations work
Our requirements
- University degree
- Excellent knowledge of social policy and the political system of Switzerland as well as several years of relevant professional experience
- Existing network in politics and administration
- Experience in parliamentary work is desirable
- Native language German or French, very good knowledge of the other language
- Independent and flexible personality with political sensitivity who enjoys taking responsibility
