Your new role
Your areas of responsibility include the targeted everyday integrated support of preschool children with German as a second language as well as advising parents, playgroup leaders, and professionals in daycares on language support-specific topics. Prospectively, conducting parent education events on the topic of "Early Multilingualism" may also be added.
To ensure networking work, the assignments mostly take place directly on site in the playgroups, which are distributed throughout the city of St. Gallen and are easily accessible by public transport. For administrative tasks, workspaces are also available to you in the premises of school health services.
You share the playgroup visits with your job partner, who simultaneously introduces you to the offerings and supports you in implementation. Some flexibility in time is required, as children needing German support attend playgroups at different times. However, most assignments can be scheduled in the morning. Working and vacation times follow the school holiday schedule of the city of St. Gallen.
This position is for you if you
- have completed training in a field working with young children or in special education. Ideally, you also bring specialization or in-depth knowledge in the area of language support.
- enjoy play-oriented and integrative language support work with children of playgroup age in a multicultural context.
- have diverse experience in language support work with preschool children.
- possess confident presentation skills and good communication abilities.
- work independently and in a structured manner.
