Part-time Chief Medical Officer in Psychiatry (40%) (appointed under art. 15/16 LORD at the Cantonal Sociopsychiatric Organization (OSC), Psycho-social Service (SPS) for adults, Prison Facilities

Class and annual salary (including 13th month salary):

Tasks:

• performs psychiatric, diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitative interventions, in collaboration with the SPS team
• assigns therapeutic tasks to team operators according to their professional training, experience and specific knowledge
• cares about the well-being of patients and the work environment
• collaborates, together with the chief psychiatrist, in the FMH training of assistant doctors
• within the prison facilities, is responsible for the care of inmates from the beginning of incarceration until its conclusion. In particular, will conduct initial assessment interviews and regular interviews throughout the detention period. Also takes charge of inmates with specific therapeutic measures. Regularly collaborates with the head of prison medicine in a multidisciplinary approach together with the psychologist-psychotherapist active in the facilities

Requirements:

• medical diploma (or equivalent title)
• FMH specialist title in psychiatry and psychotherapy (or equivalent title)
• authorization to practice medicine freely in the Canton of Ticino issued by the Health Office
• good knowledge of another official language and English
• medical-therapeutic work experience in sociopsychiatric teams
• teamwork attitude
• knowledge of the territory and the sociopsychiatric care network of the Canton of Ticino

• employment rate: 1 part-time position at 40% (appointment art. 15 and 16 LORD) until 31.12.2026
• workplace: Lugano Prison Facilities
• availability of the candidate to work irregular shifts
• start date: to be agreed
• candidates not yet in possession of the authorization to practice medicine freely in the Canton of Ticino, the language proficiency certificate (Italian-B2) and, in case of foreign titles, the recognition issued by the Medical Professions Commission Mebeko both of the medical diploma and the specialist title in psychiatry and psychotherapy or equivalent title, are granted 12 months from the appointment decision to obtain the required formal qualifications
• the actual start of activity of the selected candidate is subject to obtaining the required titles/certifications. Failure to obtain the required qualifications within 12 months from the appointment decision will result in automatic forfeiture

Employment conditions:

• the appointment is as provided by the Law on the Organization of State Employees and Teachers of March 15, 1995 (LORD) and the related Regulation. Any changes in law concerning salary and organization are explicitly reserved
• working hours: 42 hours per week (for a 100% employment relationship), flexible or according to service needs
