For an external customer project in the greater Zurich area, we are looking for an experienced, competent individual for the position of Test Engineer (Data platform) at the Senior Expert level (from 5-8 years) starting from 02.02.2026
Main tasks:
Become part of our team as a Test Engineer and help us develop a company-wide data platform on
Microsoft Azure and Snowflake! In this role, you will design and further develop our test automation framework
as well as the data quality tests on the platform and in the release pipelines.
You will work in a data engineering team that sets up the platform and migrates the existing
data and analytics solutions.
Your main tasks include:
- Maintenance and further development of the data reconciliation framework using Azure, Snowflake, dbt, Python, and Power BI
- Review of existing data checks, design of improvements, and implementation of extensions from start to finish
- Design and implementation of new data quality checks across all platform levels (e.g., based
- on errors)
- Development and improvement of automated tests integrated into CI/CD pipelines Improvement of reporting and monitoring functions for data quality and reconciliation metrics
- Promotion and improvement of testing procedures, standards, and documentation within the data development team
- Close collaboration with the test manager, delivery lead, and development team during testing and release activities
Tasks & Requirements (content, methodology, technology):
- Solid experience in testing cloud-based data platforms, including data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
- Extensive experience with Snowflake, Azure (especially Azure Data Factory), and dbt
- Good knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, ideally using Azure DevOps
- Basic knowledge of Python and Power BI
- Experience with migrating on-premises data warehouse systems to cloud environments is an
- advantage
- Industry experience in finance is a plus
- Fluent English skills, German skills are an advantage
