The State Archive is the central memory of the Canton of Thurgau, dating back 900 years. For our Records Formation Department / Digital State Archive, we are looking for a to be agreed head of department
Your tasks as head of department
You will lead the Records Formation Department / Digital State Archive with six employees. The department advises and supports the approximately 100 offices of the Canton of Thurgau in the transition from analog to digital record keeping. So far, 70% of the offices have switched to digital record keeping; the rest must follow by 2030. You will accompany the employees' transition projects, including receiving the last paper deliveries and the first digital deliveries. You coordinate the various projects for the introduction of disposal interfaces from specialist applications, which are implemented by the department in cooperation with the supervised offices. You support the application scopeArchiv and plan the use of further IT resources in the State Archive.
Your profile
- A completed university degree in history or law
- Professional experience in a cantonal state archive or a larger city archive in Switzerland and/or a completed postgraduate degree in archival science
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good knowledge of digital long-term archiving
- Willingness to participate in cantonal and Swiss IT and archival committees
- Particular skill in dealing with people
- A well-coordinated and motivated team
- A responsible and varied activity with great scope for design
