Pastor

For the Health Center for the Elderly Mattenhof in Zurich, we are looking for a pastor due to the retirement of the current holder of the position.

You believe that encounter is more than a conversation. You are ready to engage with people with dementia – with mindfulness, humor, patience, and genuine appreciation. Singing, dancing, enduring silence together are part of it. In the palliative care unit of the house, you face existential questions of life. Here, empathy and ritual competence are needed. You accompany dying people and their relatives – attentively, supportively, and present. You are also a contact person for employees – from trainees to managers. Confidential. Discreet. Reliable. Services and devotions are part of your ministry – as is openness to people of various religious backgrounds or without denomination. You work collegially, ecumenically, and interdisciplinarily. Teamwork is not just a buzzword for you but an attitude.

As an ordained pastor, you have specialized training in pastoral care (CAS AWS Unibe or equivalent) as well as an A2 basic course in palliative care or are willing to further your education accordingly. You bring experience from parish ministry and have flair and competence for very elderly people, palliative situations, and dementia. Your residence is at a reasonable distance from your new workplace, as you are also part of the on-call service.

A versatile, creative, and meaningful task with regular working hours awaits you. A structured, well-functioning convent of home and hospital chaplains of the city of Zurich as well as a workplace in a central location directly at Stettbach station.
