The Technical & Event Services (TES) are the central service unit of ZHdK for events, specialist infrastructure, and AV technology.
As part of a succession arrangement, we are looking for a
Head of Event Services, 70-80%
Event Services supports around 600 events annually as the central contact point for organizers within ZHdK as well as for external room renters – from workshops, exhibitions, and conferences to concerts, dance performances, and other formats – with participant numbers ranging from a dozen to several hundred people.
As Head of Event Services, you can expect a versatile field of activity with great creative freedom, high independence, and personal responsibility. Through your interface function within the university, you take on a central role in coordinating various stakeholders and contribute to the lateral leadership of professional processes.
The main focuses of this role include the following tasks:
- Strategic and operational leadership of the Event Services team (2 employees) as well as managing cooperation with the event technology team in AV Services (5 employees)
- Further development of services, processes, and quality standards in ZHdK’s event management
- Coordination of cross-departmental committees and representation in external networks
- Collaboration with stakeholders (internal and external organizers, program directors, etc.) as well as with internal and external service providers to ensure smooth operations
- Preparation of reports and statistical bases for decision-making processes
- Active participation in the management team of Technical and Event Services (TES)
Your profile
You have a university degree in event or cultural management, communication, business administration, or similar, as well as at least five years of experience in event management, ideally with leadership experience. You are characterized by organizational strength, initiative, and a keen eye for detail. Your communication skills and sensitivity to people enable you to engage professionally with diverse partners and interest groups. You combine networked, pragmatic, and business-oriented thinking with creativity in problem-solving. You also bring experience in sustainable event planning and aspects of inclusion. You are proficient in MS Office and MS Teams, use AI tools reflectively, and have basic knowledge of Typo3 and image editing (e.g., Adobe InDesign). Fluent German and English skills are required; additional language skills are an advantage.
