About the job
Care
Nurses at the Emergency-Crisis Unit of the Department of Psychiatry
The Emergency-Crisis Unit of the Liaison Psychiatry Service of the Department of Psychiatry continues to develop! Due to the increase in its activities, we are looking for nurses at a work rate between 80% - 100% starting April 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.
Context
This position is attached to the Emergency-Crisis Unit, which handles outpatient psychiatric emergencies, psychiatric consultations in somatic emergencies, and offers outpatient crisis follow-ups when necessary.
This unit is part of the Liaison Psychiatry Service (PLI), which also includes:
- the CHUV Liaison Consultation Unit
- the specialized liaison psychiatry unit
- the Gender Dysphoria/Transgender Consultation
- abC - Vaud Center for Anorexia and Bulimia, operating on 2 sites, at the Lausanne-CHUV space and the Saint-Loup space.
Ongoing development of the Intensive Psychiatric Emergencies (UPI) project
In a context of increasing demands and evolving needs in psychiatric emergencies, the Emergency-Crisis Unit is currently leading a development project aimed at improving the quality of care and offering relevant alternatives to hospitalization, with a recovery perspective.
This project pursues two main axes:
Create a structured clinical space-time within the outpatient emergency reception, allowing brief and targeted intervention (up to 12 hours). This space aims to support assessment, mobilization of the person's resources, and coordinated action of their primary and secondary network.
Strengthen outpatient crisis follow-ups: in continuity with the emergency consultation, follow-up can be offered when the situation requires it. Its intensity is adjusted to the specific needs of the person and their environment, to support making sense of the crisis, promote stabilization, and organize, when necessary, a transfer to the appropriate care relay.
The project is part of the first strategic orientation of the development plan of the CHUV Department of Psychiatry.
