Your new role
You will strengthen our well-coordinated gardener team in the outdoor area of the Botanical Garden St.Gallen. Together with the other team members, you maintain the facilities in impeccable condition. Your main focus will be the care of the school departments, the useful plants departments, as well as various assortment departments including the water garden. Other tasks include hedge maintenance, winter pruning of woody plants, overwintering with all associated work for non-hardy outdoor plants, engraving plant labels, and seed collection for international seed exchange.
This position is for you if
- You have training as a gardener
- You have experience in the care of hedges, perennials, and woody plants
- You are interested in botany
- You have manual skills and work independently
- You are proficient in handling machines and equipment
- Reliability and teamwork are among your strengths
- You are willing to work weekend and on-call shifts on a rotating basis
