You will become part of the Domain Security Team (around 10 specialists), responsible for protecting the Swiss domain namespace and supporting registrars, authorities, and the community. The team values personal responsibility, open and goal-oriented collaboration, and the willingness to continuously learn and develop. We work closely with technical, legal, and security experts within Switch and maintain active exchanges with registrars, other registries, and authorities in Switzerland and Europe. We are looking for a Registry Specialist who enjoys working at the interface of technical operations, stakeholder management, and domain security.

Registry Specialist (80% - all identities and backgrounds)
- Registry Operations & Support
- Maintaining and further developing relationships with registrars as central customers and primary contact for registry-relevant topics
- Providing registry support via email and phone for technical and administrative inquiries from registrars, domain holders, and the public
- Handling operational issues as well as complex or time-critical situations in close cooperation with technical and legal teams
- Supporting the domain lifecycle and registry-related processes, including coordination with internal stakeholders
- Contributing to customer-oriented documentation, communication, and registrar enablement
- Domain Abuse & Security
- Handling cases in the area of domain abuse (e.g., malware, phishing, or other forms of misuse) according to internal processes, policies, and legal requirements
- Monitoring the domain ecosystem and contributing to the early detection of risks and security-relevant developments
- Collaborating with authorities and relevant organizations on security-related topics in the domain context
- Contributing to the further development of domain abuse processes, tools, and strategies
- Supporting investigations and coordinating measures with internal security, legal, and technical teams
- Community Outreach & Industry Collaboration
- Sharing knowledge with registrars, other registries, and industry partners to strengthen collaboration and share best practices
- Representing Switch at industry meetings, conferences, and community initiatives in Switzerland and Europe
- Participating in peer visits with other registries and building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
- Active involvement in the registry and domain security community, including occasional travel (approx. 10–20%)
- Experience in the domain, hosting, registry, and/or internet infrastructure environment
- Good technical understanding of DNS, domain operations, or related internet technologies
- Strong communication skills and confidence in dealing with diverse stakeholders, even in challenging situations
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with technical, legal, and security teams
- Structured and solution-oriented working style with pronounced analytical thinking
- Very good German and English skills (both required)
- Openness and willingness for occasional travel within Switzerland and Europe
- Knowledge in cybersecurity, especially in the domain abuse area (e.g., phishing, malware)
- Understanding of the Swiss legal or regulatory framework in the domain context
- Familiarity with web technologies, hosting, or registry operations
- French language skills
- You work at the interface of technology, security, and stakeholder management in the Swiss domain ecosystem
- The role combines registry operations, domain abuse handling, and community collaboration
- The position includes occasional travel for industry meetings, conferences, and stakeholder exchanges
