Postdoctoral Researcher at the University Institute of Psychotherapy
The Department of Psychiatry (DP) of the CHUV is looking for a postdoctoral researcher in psychotherapy research at a 50% activity rate to join the University Institute of Psychotherapy in Lausanne. The starting date is scheduled for September 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.
Context
The position is part of a project supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), consisting of a randomized controlled study comparing the effectiveness of two brief treatments for severe personality disorder: Good Psychiatric Management and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
In addition to evaluating the effectiveness of the treatments, the project aims to study the mechanisms of change explaining their effects. To do this, various assessment methods are used, including Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA), analysis of physiological synchrony during sessions (heart rate of the patient and therapist), as well as questionnaires and evaluation interviews.
Within the University Institute of Psychotherapy, in collaboration with the General Psychiatry Service of the Department of Psychiatry of the CHUV, we conduct cutting-edge research in the field of personality disorders. Our projects have been supported by competitive funds for many years, and several international awards have recognized our work. The research program specializes in the investigation and treatment of personality disorders.
Mission
- You train and supervise doctoral students in the analysis of physiological synchrony patterns during sessions
- You conduct, under supervision, psychopathological assessments and momentary assessments with patients presenting severe personality disorder
- You present your results at national and international conferences and take a leading role in writing scientific publications.
Profile
- You hold a PhD in psychology (in French) or an equivalent degree
- You have knowledge and/or a strong interest in psychophysiological analyses (ECG, HRV analyses)
- You possess programming skills (Matlab and/or Python)
- You master scientific English.
