Research
Research Officer at the Violence Medicine Unit
The University Center for Forensic Medicine of Western Switzerland (CURML) is looking for a Research Officer at a 60% activity rate to conduct a study within the Violence Medicine Unit (UMV). The starting date is as soon as possible for a fixed-term contract of one year, renewable.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Violence Medicine Unit offers medico-legal consultations to adult victims of violence, whether it is intimate partner, family, or community violence. It is present at 4 sites: at CHUV, at Yverdon-les-Bains Hospital, at Rennaz Hospital Center, and in Nyon.
The UMV also provides advice and training to health professionals and network partners and develops research projects on the topic of interpersonal violence.
Mission
- You recruit participants, conduct research interviews, and verify, if necessary, transcriptions made by other collaborators
- You collaborate in the analysis of interview data
- You produce literature reviews
- You co-author scientific articles and/or reports
- You perform any other tasks within the mandate related to your knowledge and skills.
Profile
- You hold a master's degree in social sciences
You have at least 5 years of experience in a similar position
- You have published at least one scientific article as first author
You have excellent command of French and very good writing skills
You have at least a B2 level in English; knowledge of any other language is an asset
- You have basic skills in statistics
Meticulous and well-organized, you manage priorities perfectly
Your analytical and synthesis skills, your spirit of cooperation, and your sense of interdisciplinary teamwork complete your profile.
Depending on the candidate's profile, the salary class will be between 9 and 10.
