Scientific Staff Member DAB Panel Study (50%)
University of Teacher Education FHNW, Institute for Secondary Level I and II
In the DAB Panel Study ( www.fhnw.ch/ph/dab ), funded by the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI), longitudinal data on training and career paths of young adults in the German-speaking part of Switzerland have been collected since 2012. The selected individuals have been followed since their eighth school year and have so far been surveyed twelve times about their current training or employment situation as well as their training and career aspirations. Three more survey waves are planned for the years 2026-2028. The DAB Panel Study provides a theoretically and empirically grounded contribution from a life course perspective to clarify relevant questions in vocational education, labor market, and occupational research. You work together with the project management and project team on the following tasks:
- Contribute to answering questions from the project proposal using multivariate, longitudinal, and causal analytical methods.
- Write publications with data from the DAB Panel Study in scientific journals, preferably in collaboration with national and international partners. Write articles for transfer journals as well as reports for SERI.
- Present results at national and international conferences.
- Contribute to the further development of existing survey instruments.
- Opportunity to attend methodology workshops.
- Master's degree in social sciences or related disciplines.
- Very good knowledge of empirical social research, including the application of multivariate, longitudinal, and preferably causal analytical methods.
- Very good knowledge of the statistical software Stata or comparable programs.
- Experience working in social science longitudinal studies.
- Publication experience is an advantage.
- Reliable and committed personality who enjoys working in a team and at the same time takes responsibility independently.
- Precise working style, very good German and English skills. Motivated, proactive in bringing in and implementing new ideas.
