About the job
The Ballenberg Open-Air Museum houses over 100 historic residential and agricultural buildings from all regions of Switzerland. Each tells its own story. The staff demonstrate living crafts, tend the fields, gardens, and animals in the museum. The museum conveys the history and diversity of rural farming Switzerland, the life and work of people up to the 20th century. The view of past ways of life is full of inspiration for the present and future.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for an employee for reservations, 100%, starting June 1, 2026, or by arrangement.
You are a service-oriented personality with joy in customer contact and a pronounced talent for organization.
Your core tasks include:
- Processing and managing admission, group, and event reservations in the booking system
- Ensuring the availability and bookability of all offers
- Coordinating and scheduling guides for tours, workshops, and school programs
- Advising and supporting our guests via telephone, email, and online channels
- Close collaboration with internal departments such as cash desk, mediation, and events for optimal visitor management
- Maintaining and ensuring data quality in booking and management systems
- Supporting events and related areas (e.g., cash desk or course administration)
Your core competencies are:
- Completed commercial training or comparable qualification
- Professional experience in reservations, customer service, tourism, or administration is an advantage
- Confident handling of IT systems and affinity for booking software
- Organizational strength, accuracy, and structured working style
- Strong customer and service orientation as well as communication skills
- Very good German skills, good French and English skills, additional languages are an advantage
- Flexible, team-oriented, and reliable personality
