The Department of Women, Children and Adolescents has the mission to provide quality care adapted to the needs of women at every stage of their lives and to address the health issues faced by newborns, children, and adolescents from birth up to 20 years old. With nearly 2,000 employees, the DFEA continuously develops cutting-edge services and centers of expertise in several medical specialties.
The General Pediatrics Service manages the health issues of newborns, children, adolescents until the end of their growth, and contributes to health maintenance. It also ensures the coordination and postgraduate training of pediatricians.
The Outpatient Consultation Unit for Adolescent and Young Adult Health (CASAA), attached to the general pediatrics service, serves adolescents from 12 years old and young adults up to 25 years old. It addresses the specific health needs during this transition period and helps adolescents and young adults who have difficulties accessing care. This unit is part of the general pediatrics service.
Job Description
The CASAA unit is looking for a physician to conduct psychiatric evaluations of young patients followed in the multidisciplinary context of CASAA and to manage follow-up of certain complex cases.
As a senior or advanced clinic chief physician, you are autonomous in patient care, collaborating with other team members while benefiting from supervision by the consultation manager. You present your cases at the weekly consultation case review.
You are the medical-psychological reference within a multidisciplinary team, with a clinical, coordination, and supervision role. You work closely with the external socio-educational network in a rich and varied activity.
Working in a stimulating university environment within a multidisciplinary team, your leadership allows you to efficiently support junior doctors in their skills development.
Qualifications
You hold an FMH (psychiatry and psychotherapy of children and adolescents, or adult psychiatry and psychotherapy) or have training deemed equivalent by the Medical Professions Commission of the Federal Office of Public Health (MEBEKO).
You have the right to practice in the canton of Geneva or are able to obtain it before starting your position.
You have at least 3 years of experience in the field, including working with young people (12-25 years).
For non-French speakers, a C1 level in spoken and written French is required.
You possess excellent communication skills within a multidisciplinary team and with patients.
You are autonomous, flexible, and committed.
Skills in transcultural approach and/or psychotrauma are desirable.
