The Department of Women, Children and Adolescents (DFEA) is tasked with providing quality care tailored to the needs of women at every stage of their lives and to the health problems faced by newborns, children, and adolescents from birth up to 16 years old. It offers cutting-edge services and specialty competence centers.
The DFEA has three emergency structures (gynecological, obstetrical, and pediatric) open 24/7 and a comprehensive system of inpatient and outpatient care spread across 9 medical services, with an operating budget of 250 million francs and an investment budget of 5 million francs (excluding real estate projects involving the department).
In addition to monitoring and managing pregnancies until delivery, the obstetrics service is the regional reference center for high-risk pregnancies and fetomaternal medicine. The Maternity collaborates closely with the neonatology unit where about 500 newborns are hospitalized each year, with teams working around the clock to provide care and close monitoring.
