Building Inspector (50%-100%)
The Building Inspection Department in the City Construction Office is responsible for the building permit and building police procedures. To complement our team, we are looking for a motivated personality as
This is your job
- You supervise ongoing construction projects in terms of technical, procedural, scheduling, and administrative aspects and ensure smooth processing in close cooperation with the department management
- You competently advise prospective builders on building law issues and respond to preliminary building inquiries
- You conduct building inspections and approvals and ensure compliance with applicable regulations
- You draft building police orders, for example in cases of construction stoppages or restorations, thus contributing to the legally compliant implementation of construction projects
This is what you bring
- You have completed a commercial basic education in public administration and ideally have professional experience as a building inspector
- Alternatively, you have an equivalent education with several years of experience in public administration, preferably in the construction sector
- Further training as a certified Bernese building manager, as a caseworker for building permit procedures, or a similar qualification is an advantage
- You are interested in construction-related issues and have a good technical understanding
- You work customer-oriented, independently, and precisely, present yourself confidently, and convince with negotiation skills
