School Social Worker at Kantonsschule Büelrain Winterthur 45 - 55%
The Kantonsschule Büelrain Winterthur (www.kbw.ch) is a medium-sized school with around 850 students, 110 teachers, and 25 staff members in administration and operations. In addition to the short gymnasium with focus subjects in economics and law as well as philosophy/education/psychology, we offer vocational baccalaureate courses in commercial middle school (HMS) and computer science middle school (IMS).
We are able to expand our school social work and are looking for an additional school social worker starting April 1, 2026.
As a school social worker at our Kantonsschule, you operate in the environment of a general education school leading to university entrance qualification. Besides expertise, social and personal skills, methodology and creativity, as well as networked and critical thinking, are central. The school culture at our gymnasium is characterized, among other things, by numerous cultural activities and pronounced participation opportunities for students. At KBW, school social work is well established and highly valued by all sides.
Your area of responsibility
As a school social worker, you support the school management, class teachers, and other school committees together with our school social worker in accompanying individual youths and entire classes. You implement community-building measures and support young people in their age-typical developmental tasks. You form a network with external agencies for triage or follow-up solutions. As a school social work professional, you are embedded in an internal two-person team and a regional specialist team and help to further develop stage-specific, professionally sound, and needs-based school social work at Zurich secondary schools.
Your profile
You are a team-oriented, resilient, and committed personality and bring the necessary pioneering spirit to further shape the position. You enjoy working with young people and already have counseling experience in the youth sector. You know the school environment and can mediate well between different concerns with your solution-oriented systemic approach. Furthermore, you are well networked, communicative, and proactive. Formal requirements for an application are a bachelor’s degree in social work at the tertiary level, further training in school social work (CAS), and several years of professional experience with young people.
Our offer
We offer you a stimulating and dynamic working environment. Your scope for design is large, and you can contribute your ideas and skills. The activity is versatile and characterized by contact with various stakeholders. Büelrain is very much looking forward to you!
