Aarau, as the cantonal capital - centrally located between Zurich, Basel, and Bern - is an important economic, cultural, and educational center with a supraregional impact. The Aarau City Police is responsible for local security in the Aarau city area as well as in the six contract municipalities of Biberstein, Hirschthal, Küttigen, Oberentfelden, Unterentfelden, and Erlinsbach AG. The City Police Security Section of the Security Department is looking for a police officer in shift work (40-100%) starting January 1, 2026, or by agreement.
Your main tasks
Interesting and varied activities in the areas of security, traffic, and administrative police in the Aarau city area and the contract municipalities await you. We work in shift operation in four service groups. The shift consists of two day shifts, followed by two night shifts and four days off.
Your profile
  • Swiss citizenship
  • Completed police training with a federal specialist certificate
  • Good physical and mental resilience as well as quick comprehension
  • Good general education and impeccable reputation
  • High social competence, communication, and teamwork skills
  • IT experience, technical understanding, and confident German language skills
  • Driver's license category B
